A prescription medicine that may temporarily reduce selected dynamic expression lines by relaxing targeted muscles. Effects and duration vary. Discussion includes alternatives and risks such as bruising, headache, asymmetry, unintended muscle weakness and rare serious reactions.
Different hyaluronic-acid formulations may be considered for contour, volume or skin-quality goals. Risks include swelling, bruising, infection, lumps and asymmetry; rare vascular complications require urgent assessment. Hyaluronidase may be considered when clinically indicated.
